Volvo Penta Digital & IT is a global function responsible for Digital planning and portfolio management, IT Solution Management, Digital Innovation, Information Management and Enterprise architecture. The Digital & IT function is an active part in developing and shaping the Volvo Penta Digital business offering and IT solutions to meet current and future customer needs.
To support our business objectives, Volvo Penta is now developing the next generation E-commerce platform – where our direct Business partners around the globe conduct their e-Commerce business, both B2B towards professional customers and B2C towards owners of Volvo Penta products.
Position description
We are now looking for an IT Portfolio Manager for e-Commerce and Parts Distribution to help us take the next step in creating a world class end-to-end e-Commerce experience.
You will be the technical product owner for a portfolio of digital products - where the new e-Commerce platform is the main part. Your responsibility will be to secure that the IT solutions in your portfolio deliver the right business capabilities, features, value and technology development over the solution lifecycle.
We are working through Volvo Group internal and contracted partners for all IT deliveries, so an important part of the job is to manage supplier relations.
You will be working in team of highly qualified digital experts within Volvo Penta Digital& IT. Together with highly engaged and driven colleagues within the global Volvo Penta organisation and the Volvo Group, you will be responsible for shaping the next generation of digital e-Commerce platforms and solutions. Solutions that aims to be world class to secure a great digital experience to Volvo Penta customers.
This position is a global functional role reporting to the Director Digital Platforms and Services at Volvo Penta Digital & IT.
The position is based at Volvo Penta headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional domestic and international travel is expected.
Core Responsibilities
Own and manage all IT solutions within the e-Commerce & Parts Distribution portfolio
Own and manage the development and operations budget for your IT solutions
Develop strategies and product roadmaps for your IT solutions
Manage the pipeline of strategic development activities, plan and prioritize development roadmaps, release plans and backlogs for your IT solutions
Identify and plan for resource & competence capacity needs to support development and operations efforts
Scout for new trends within e-Commerce (both B2B and B2C) and progressively develop the solution using new technology
Be a trusted advisor to the different line organizations, acting as the bridge between the different Volvo Penta organizations in need of IT solutions, and the suppliers building and maintaining the IT solutions.
Actively participate in breaking down complex business questions and opportunities into feasible end-to-end concepts, capabilities and new IT solution designs
Experience Required
We are looking for someone that has solid experience from product leadership and in-depth technical understanding of modern e-Commerce solutions. You are ready to take the next step in the journey and build a global e-Commerce platform for a very complex business environment. We believe you have:
Experience from developing and operating e-Commerce systems
Experience from Technical Product Ownership, preferably in a micro-services based architecture
Experience from development in Agile Distributed SW Development Environment
Competencies & Skills
A customer, innovation and business development oriented mind-set
Deep interest and knowledge in modern E-Commerce Solutions, both from a usability and technical perspective
Good interpersonal and leadership skills: ability to effectively collaborate, network and interface with a wide variety of colleagues on different levels, across functions and geographies
Solid communication capacity with an ability to explain complex topics to different audiences
Fluent in English, verbal & written
Good analytical and planning skills and proven capacity to execute against targets
Minimum Education Required
Academic degree on Bachelor or Master Level in Information technology, Engineering, communication or other area relevant for this position, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
