We are growing and the YIFPM team within Vattenfall IT at Vattenfall is looking for an IT Project Manager with a genuine interest in IT solutions who would like to work with projects related to Vattenfall’s Hydro business.
About us
With the support of the Project Management Office team, our IT Project Managers lead multidisciplinary and international teams and contribute directly to Vattenfall strategy. In this role, you will work as an IT Project Manager for Vattenfall Hydro but be employed within Vattenfall IT. Vattenfall Hydro is responsible for Vattenfall’s 90 hydropower plants and 400 dams in the Nordic region. They are about 500 employees with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower’s renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society.
The role as an IT Project Manager
As an IT project manager, you will work with our most important IT projects in our digitalization journey. These are mainly projects with large elements of change management, but they can also be technology-heavy projects in IT infrastructure and IT security.
You will lead independent projects according to VPMM (Vattenfall’s project model). You use your experience of IT and understanding of how IT systems and technology can be used to streamline operations and to guide the projects forward in the right direction. Our business is spread all over the country, so it is important that you can engage an often geographically spread project groups.
Main tasks and responsibilities as an IT Project Manager:
Grasp a project value, timeframe and deliverables; understand your customer requirements, and translate these into clear IT requirements
Plan, execute, follow-up, and deliver projects according to or above customer expectations
Coordinate interactions with different stakeholders (Business Units, Solution Architects, other IT departments, external providers, etc)
Develop, implement and deploy project plans
Coordinate international teams of project resources, actively bridging cultural differences

We are looking for candidates who:
Have an academic degree in IT or other relevant field
Are in the beginning of your career as a project manager and have about two years of experience from working in IT projects
Have a genuine interest and general knowledge in IT
Have an interest in the energy industry
Are advanced in both Swedish and English (writing/speaking)
It is considered a merit if you have experience from a big organization

Some travel to other Vattenfall sites as well as international travel is required.
