The desired effect of your role is to take accountability as a leader for delivering an 'outstanding' IT experience within R&D IT.



Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Delivering the portfolio of projects and services needs people with hybrid abilities covering technical, analytical, project management, service management, relationship management and business analysis skills. Our project managers lead or contribute to a range of projects including IT development, data management, analytics, AI, machine learning, business transformation and more. Our projects deploy a range of technologies including internal custom build solutions, packaged software, Software as a Service as well as Cloud based solutions and BI tools. The Project Manager lead complex programme(s) within the portfolio supporting a Programme Lead who has overall accountability for the portfolio of projects and programme(s). You define the roadmap and agree the programme scope and boundaries. Agree and deliver plans for projects / programmes (or contribution in part to a larger project). Lead programme budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management, and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to partners and review boards. Coordinate status and delivery of project workstreams. Identify / handle dependencies between projects (intra-program and across portfolio). Assure / develop transition plans to ensure project delivered solutions are balanced within a BAU operations environment, including controlled hand-over into operational support.

* Partner with key business collaborators to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and dedication to project/program objectives.
* Responsible for steering / stakeholder meetings, communication of status, issues, risks.
* Ensure effective risks & issues management processes are in place and effectively used. Resolve problems and raise as appropriate.
* Build a cohesive project team and provide the leadership vital to enhance the team's success. Provide individual mentor and development of team members as needed.
* Manage changes to project/programme scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders and review boards.
* Develop service transition plans including controlled hand-over into support and maintenance.
* Ensure the project team adheres to all PMO standards, processes, capabilities, and best practices.
* Establish project governance and lead project governance meetings
* Ensure encouraged benefits realization is consistent with project results and clearly understood by stakeholders and project team.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

* +8 years of Project Management experience, Pharmaceutical IT environment is a plus
* Experience working in global organization and across cultural boundaries
* Experience in Agile Project Management
* Experience leading large projects /programs
* Experience working with third party suppliers
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment
* Strong relationship management, and influencing skills
* An ambitious attitude and the solid ability to craft innovative solutions
* Well-developed organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal presentation skills
