IT Security Specialist/SOC expert

Do you want to participate in the formation and operation of a Security Team, working to secure assets and information with high security standards? Do you have a deep knowledge on IT Security technology, operations and the implementation of regulatory requirements? We are now looking for experienced and solid professionals with a dedicated interest and a critical eye for IT-security which want to work with both proactive as well as operational tasks.
Vattenfall IT is putting together a team of experts to provide services for a dedicated environment - Red IT. As a member of the Security Team, you will be responsible for enabling and maintaining a high overall level of IT security by operational as well as proactive activities. In performing its operational task, the team will operate as 2nd line of support by performing incident management, investigations, forensics and threat hunt activities. Side by side with its operational work the team will also be proactive by coordinating the function of the SOC, performing vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and providing advice on IT-security.
Working with 2nd line of support, you will act as a Point of Contact and assemble the incident response team to assign tasks and keep track of incident management. You will also make assessments of potentially critical incidents and in case of escalation, communicate and control resources during remediation. During incidents, you are responsible for preparing updates, and post incident organize lessons learned sessions. In addition, you will organize vulnerability scans and participate in driving processes and technology stack of the security operation center. At all times you will cooperate with other stakeholders by informing them about, and providing advice on how to manage vulnerabilities.


Competence, experience and personal skills
• Very good knowledge of network security
• Several years of experience from SOC/NOC operations or other incident management
• Experience of secure network monitoring (server logs, IDS data, PCAP data)
• Ability to collect and analyze information, draw conclusions to present/report
• Certifications, for example CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security +
• Driven, curious, analytical, problem solver
• Communicative, interest to participate in demanding situations
