The Essence


Even though titles are less important, we all bring a mix of our past and future to The Context. Let me try to introduce the essence of your position as IT Solution Architect in this context.


You operate in the field of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) with focus on the Embedded SoftWare (ESW). You lead the architectural work from pre-studies to decisions that have an impact on any IT solution that supports the lifecycle of ESW in Volvo CE products & services.


You will work with various agile development teams and projects, analyzing the architectural impact of the expected changes, providing solution proposals that are consistent with the overall end-to-end PLM solution and acting as the subject matter expert in the ESW area of the whole.


Your involvement in the changes that we are about to launch in this area during the upcoming years, will give you an extensive opportunity to learn about new technologies and business processes, improve your communication skills and decision making, and give you high exposure to extremely competent and friendly people.


Your team members are located all around the globe, from Asia throughout Europe to the US. So it is important you appreciate occasional weird meeting times and the fact that we spend more time online than face-to-face, even after the Pandemic.


One additional factor, we have a nice mix of SW as a Service, Commercial off the Shelf and proprietary solutions. This means diversity in all dimensions when it comes to our team members, partners and stakeholders.
Oh, one more thing. We are accountable for the entire IT Services, from Infrastructure components to Applications, from Strategy through design to transition and operations. All of it. So depending on your personal interest, you will influence multiple layers of the solutions.
