The Information Technology division are now looking to appoint an IT Support Technician. 

The IT division's main responsibilities is to maintain, improve, advise and lead the work in the IT platform to meet the need of the project both today and in the future. The mission is to provide a stable and accessible IT platform. The helpdesk prides itself in high quality service and support. 

About the role:

As an IT Support technician you will work within the support team, which consist of 4 fulltime employees, and provide technical assistance within IT services to staff and collaborators of ESS. A large part of the work will be to answer questions or resolve computer problems for users either in person, via telephone or over a remote connection. Your responsibility is to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software including printing, video conferencing, office related software and operating systems. You may also be required to teach people how to use the common tools used here at ESS.

Your main responsibilities will include: 


• Answer use inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
• Staffing the IT Helpdesk
• Dispatch incoming cases to the support team and also escalate when necessary.
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems
• To provide technical assistance and support.
• Placing and receiving orders for IT equipment, Software and other required materials
• Writing and updating user guides in the form of knowledge base articles and how-to’s
• To procure, stock and manage lifecycle of relevant hardware
• Configure and deploy new equipment, handle repairs, orders and other logistics.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at the ESS Campus in Lund, Sweden.

About you:


• Relevant work experience or equivalent education
• Experience with Windows and MacOS as an administrator or power user 
• Knowledge with iPhone/IOS
• Experience of working in an international environment is beneficial
• Relevant certifications e.g. as an MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desptop Support Technician) would be a real advantage
