Arbetsbeskrivning
IT Technical Specialist
. Serve as liaison between shore-side IT & the various departments on the ship
. Manage all ship board IT projects
. Provide mentoring and ongoing training to Analyst
. Assist shore side with planning, communicating, and scheduling of new application and system deployments
. Troubleshooting, maintenance, and testing of electronics, computer systems, and software:
o Coordinating deployment of system patches to all computers (PC and laptops) connected to the ships network
o Configuration of all computers per company standards to ensure maximum stability and up-time
o Maintain and troubleshooting all Point of Sale terminals
o Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot ship printers (network and local)
o Assist with any issues on Bridge / Engine specific systems
o Assist with issues concerning the data satellite system
o See to the security of all information stored on the network
o Check and monitor system security and maintain access restrictions (change of passwords, etc.)
o Monitor user activities and report any abuses to the Chief Engineer
o Monitor and manage the backup of all ship servers and data
o Assist shore side IT with application deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting
o Maintain and manage deployment of Anti-Virus software to ensure protection of all company assets
Krav/Essential requirements:
Required:
. Expert knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications (MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Visio, etc)
. Experience with VMWare virtualization technology
. Experienced with Microsoft server operation, operating systems, installation, and troubleshooting
. Familiarity with IT operations in the Cruise industry
. Strong PC setup and troubleshooting skills
. Excellent customer service skills
. Ability to express thoughts clearly and thoroughly in writing
. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco network electronics
. Understanding of computer network operation and best practices
Desired:
. 4-year Degree in Information Technology or related field of study
. CCNA certification
. MCSE certification
. Knowledge of telephony systems including VOIP
. Familiarity with Fidelio Cruise applications
. Familiarity with Micros Point of Sale application
