Stunlock Studios is looking for an enthusiastic, driven and independent IT Technician/Generalist to join our team on site in Skövde, Sweden. Time on site is required but work from home is available for certain tasks.
You will work closely with talented colleagues to solve a variety of issues, improve security, improve on existing policies and workflows and make sure that the organization and infrastructure is running smoothly.

Role / Job Description
As an IT Technician/Generalist at Stunlock Studios you will be part of a small team and work on various projects. You will have the opportunity to work with us to learn how to develop games the best way possible.
Since we are a small team your contribution will have a huge impact. You will also have the opportunity to shape your position in the company to your liking and potential. We more than welcome any ideas and suggestions you might have on how to improve yourself, Stunlock Studios and/or the way we make games.
One of your main tasks will be to ensure that our infrastructure (both on-premise and out online services) is working, secure and up to date, as well as to help our employees with technical problems that arise.
Take a proactive approach to security and backups, implementing and managing robust security measures to protect our systems and data. Develop and execute effective backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. Improve and set up new security related policies and make sure that they are implemented.
Automate and document routine tasks and processes, leveraging scripting and other tools to enhance productivity and reliability.
Work with our developers to improve build and deployment workflows and automate otherwise manual tasks and present the results in various ways.
Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot our existing infrastructure, both on-premise and for our online and live services, to ensure optimal performance, security and minimal downtime.
Keep operating systems and applications patched and up to date, both proactively and in response to security alerts.
Follow up and document technical and security incidents.
Lead and carry out IT related projects.
Purchase, install and deploy hardware and software.
Handle software licenses.
Establish and maintain IT related policies and security measures.
Example projects
Migrate on-premise bare metal services to on-premise virtualized machines or cloud.
Update old services to newer versions.
Clean up / structure / consolidate usage on AWS/GCP/Azure/OVH.
Setup VLANs.
Install new server rooms.
Mount and configure WIFI access points.
Set up and manage automated build pipelines and testing frameworks.
Education and experience
Requirements
Strong interest in the subject and a willingness to learn new things.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a security minded approach to issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networks.
Familiarity with security protocols, firewalls, and antivirus software.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Pluses
Education within the IT space. Preferably bachelor degree or equivalent.
Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role, preferably within the gaming or software development industry.
Proficiency in scripting languages (such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and process optimization.
