Job Description - Java Developer
As a Java Developer at Assessio you will be joining our experienced engineering department to develop Assessio's next-generation Integrated Talent Management (ITM) SaaS platform. This will primarily focus on developing the software that comprises various aspects of the technology stack with the focus on our Java-based backend services. This will involve working closely with team members to design, architect, and implement solutions that meet the defined technology and product-related requirements.
Together with the rest of the engineering and platform teams, you will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies and toolsets to develop best-in-class cloud-native SaaS applications and influence large aspects of the technical infrastructure and architecture for those systems. The technology stack encompasses modern technologies including Java 17+, Spring Framework, GRPC, React, GraphQL, micro-services, containers, Kubernetes, AWS.
Assessio’s Engineering team includes individuals with a broad range of cultural backgrounds and a combination of both on-site and remote team members. Your contribution will be essential to both the team and the business success of the Assessio group. As a team, we embrace agile and lean software development principles, have a clear and well-defined Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), enjoy buddy and mob coding, and domain-driven design, and work in cross-functional teams. We are thus looking for a team player, eager to learn and share knowledge, with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility.
Who are you?
Assessio puts a lot of emphasis on who you are as a person and less emphasis on what you've done in the past. If you have the right attitude, are quick to learn new things, take your initiative and work hard to reach your goals, you will get support with the rest! To get the right conditions to succeed in the role, we believe you have:
- B.Sc degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
- Commercial experience of working with Java.
- You enjoy and understand how to design and implement backend software components for web-based applications.
- Since our work language is English you find it easy to communicate in English. Both spoken and in writing.
Nice-to-have
- The Engineering team embrace agile and lean software development principles, therefore you enjoy working with agile teams and processes, including Scrum, Kanban, TDD, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- You’re comfortable working with the Spring Framework.
- Familiarity working with secure software development practices.
- Beneficial if you have experience working with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
- Beneficial if you have worked with cloud-native technologies, preferably AWS.
