Java Engineer

Kambi Group plc is a leading B2B provider of premium sports betting services to licensed gaming operators. Our services provide an end-to-end solution for operators wanting to launch a standalone Sportsbook or bolster their existing offering with an innovative sports betting product. From front-end user interface to customer intelligence, risk management and odds compiling, all built on our in-house developed software, we strive to deliver the ultimate service and solution to our partners.

We have a very special team of technology professionals in Stockholm who are responsible for the creation and enhancement of events such as matches and competitions in our Sportsbook. They also have ownership of upgrading and redefining the central Sportsbook and its internal User Interfaces.

Our aim is to stay closely aligned to the Kambi product team and redesign events including how they are modelled, providing richer functionality and automation.

This provides us with the opportunity to research and develop new technologies through:-

• Investigation and solution design
• Proof of Concept
• Development and Testing
• Production releases

The challenges we face stem from an increasing number of Kambi customers placing wagers which can impact performance. We are motivated to solve this by increasing scalability from within the centre of Kambi’s technology.

The Team:-

7 developers and 2 testers are working together daily to provide future proofed solutions. We will be changing into 2 small teams soon.

We believe in passion for quality, taking ownership, being inventive and having a mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback to improve as individuals.

We like our developers to be driven by a curiosity to thoroughly understand how a solution works technically.

We are always digging deeper into a technology and being mindful of how it can affect compute performance.

What skills we look for:-

• 5+ years consistent experience in a high performing Java development team. Java 11 is preferred, although Java 8 and above is ok for us.
• PostgreSQL or Performance tuning SQL within relational databases
• Kafka

• Docker and Kubernetes
• Bash/Linux
• Experience or an interest in DevOps
