We are looking to expand one of our experienced development teams with a Java Software Developer. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to solve problems, provide quality for our users, and works well in a dedicated and focused team. We are currently working in a hybrid office/remote environment allowing for a certain degree of freedom in planning your workday.

You will join the Order Management & Planning product cluster within Production Planning & Procurement area of Digital at Volvo Cars. This product cluster delivers digital solutions that improves stability and consistency in production plan, which will enable us to provide shorter and more accurate lead times to our end customers. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and ensure high flow through our factories. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it.

What you’ll do
You will work with an experienced development team on the ARO application; an order scheduling system used by order coordinators and production planners globally. The application is currently being thoroughly enhanced with improved performance and new functionality developed as microservices based on Java backend and a web application frontend.

The product team is collocated in Torslanda and consists of Product Owner, Scrum Master, UX-Designer and Developers. All work together with agile principles guiding the work process both internally and within the organisation at large. Don’t worry if you are unfamiliar, we will teach you.

You and your skills
You are a curious and open-minded person who are genuinely interested in developing your skillsets together with a team. You are willing to develop into a T-shaped profile by expanding your knowledge over time into different areas of specialization.

What you need to know to be able to deliver
You should have proven experience in Java, HTML5, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript. Experience using frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Java EE. Experience working with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, REST, JSON. Knowledge of relational database.

Things that would be good to know or learn to excel in this role are Micro services architecture, full test automation (Selenium/Zalenium), Prometheus, Grafana, Angular JS, SQL and have a good understanding of UX Design.
