We are now looking for a JavaScript Developer to work as part of our Portal team in the DevOps department. The DevOps department is responsible for the Paradox Ecosystem which provides a variety of services and products to Paradox’s various Game Studios. These products and services comprise the Paradox ecosystem which includes the Paradox Account service, Paradox Mods, cross-platform multiplayer, social/player features (leaderboards, cloud saves, forums, etc.), the Paradox Store, the Paradox Game SDK, and much more!
As part of the Portal team you will be responsible for the internal back-office system that other teams build on top of to create the various administrative interfaces required to manage our portfolio of games and their related services. The Portal consists of two aspects, a developer documentation and API reference content system, and an administrative UI contextualized by our various games. All of the systems are built using JavaScript; React for the frontend and NodeJS for the backend. The Portal team will be focused on a short term project to migrate a deprecated .NET back-office system to the Portal, as well as build new tools for use by the User Research team as well as the various QA teams within Paradox.
What you will be doing:
Developing the PDX Cortex product offering in ReactJS and NodeJS (JavaScript)
Deliver features related to editing, displaying, and managing the documentation content contained in the document repository (Confluence)
Improve deployment and build pipeline with the help of the Automation team
Developing the Portal framework that PDX Cortex is built on top of (JavaScript)
Migrating old .NET back-office administrative portal to PDX Cortex
Build NodeJS (JavaScript) services to replace .NET and Scala deprecated monolith
Build features relating to User Research game playtests and playtest player data management
What we need to see:
2+ years experience working with JavaScript ES6+
2+ years experience working with React (or similar SPAs like Vue, Angular, etc.)
2+ years experience working with NodeJS as a backend API service
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Knowledge in GraphQL
Storybook experience with creating a UI library
We believe you are a service-minded, driven, and explorative individual; You are comfortable with solving problems and working autonomously within a group. Your role in a team is flexible and can include being the one who identifies viable solutions and implements appropriate solutions, as well as mentor others. Your English communication skills, both verbal and oral, are excellent and are backed by patience in taking the time to understand others as well as in explaining yourself.
