As manager of the Quality department you will have a key role in the business.
You inspire and empower excellence in food safety and quality across both facilities in Mjölby and you will be responsible for ensuring that the company complies with applicable laws and regulations and customer-specific agreements. You are an operational manager, who will guide your team in the mission to deliver the best quality products every day.
You will lead a team of nine knowledgeable people in the field and work closely with other functions in the business to ensure the best possible overall performance.

ASM Foods in Mjölby is part of the Barry Callebaut Group, and focuses on developing and producing customised fillings and coatings for the bakery, confectionery, dairy and ice cream industries. The site in Mjölby has two production facilities - one designed to produce water based products such as caramels, fruit fillings, and other sauces, and the other designed to produce fat based products such as chocolate and compound coatings and fillings. Our production is agile and flexible, facilitating great new opportunities and creative product development.
About the role
As our Quality Assurance Manager you are responsible for leading and developing the local quality work. You will be a visible and present leader with a positive mindset and the ability to create a good working environment that promotes continuous improvement and is driven by collaboration, participation and job satisfaction.
You will be responsible for the company's quality management system, HACCP/TACCP/VACCP, audits, complaints, regulatory contacts and supplier assessments. Furthermore, you ensure that the company complies with the requirements of FSSC 22000, and that requirements based on regulations, policies, customer expectations and industry guidelines are translated into procedures that are implemented, enforced and monitored.
You understand the needs of the factory by working closely with all functions in order to provide a customised support.The nature of the role is advisory, strategic and operational and, as a result of the constant development of the production process, very varied. The quality of our products has a significant impact on our results.
As our Quality Assurance Manager, you will work curiously on improvement projects. You will be an important part of an inspiring team where you will have the opportunity to develop and enjoy your work together with other colleagues.
Professional qualifications.
We are looking for someone with a university degree with a focus on food, such as food science, agronomist, nutritionist, food chemist or similar. You have at least five years of successful management experience in quality assurance, for example in food production, pharmaceuticals or other industry, preferably experience in quality management systems (HACCP, FSSC 22000 or similar) and experience of managing people, budgets and results.
You do not need to know all the details but should have an interest and experience that has given you a good understanding of quality systems, audits, and inspections in the food/pharma industry.
If you have a background and understanding of the overall food production process and the challenges it requires, this would be a great advantage.
You need to have an interest in and a willingness to learn our digital systems. In our company you will work in a google environment and the business systems Microsoft Dynamics AX and SAP. Furthermore, you have good written and spoken language skills in Swedish and English.
It is preferable if you have previous experience in change management/implementation of transformational change.
Personal skills
As a natural, you are driven with a clear vision and a commercial and operational mindset. You have the ability to positively drive change by motivating and continuously developing other people.
You need to have very good communication skills to build trust and good relations.
