We are currently looking for a General Manager Beverages and Vending EMEA in Kageröd, Sweden.
Also known as managing director, the general manager leads a multifunctional team of people towards Mid Term Plan goals, following an aligned strategy. General Managers create a diverse team and inclusive culture in their entity, whilst ensuring alignment to Barry Callebaut’s purpose, strategy, behaviors and values. He/she oversees daily business activities, improving overall business functions, training heads of departments, managing budgets, developing strategic plans, creating policies, and communicating business goals. She/he oversees all functional areas within her/his unit and leads the organization.
Focusing on achieving the ongoing Fiscal Year’s budgets on sales volume, margins, costs and EBIT, the General Manager ensures all business critical processes run smoothly and has a keen eye for continuous improvement. She / he is able to quickly move between strategic questions and operational problem solving.
He/she leads sales activities in the respective markets, countries and regions, manages his/her assigned direct reports (among others Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, QA) to execute the business plan and delivers budgeted volume and margin. The ability to cultivate internal and external relationships, identify opportunities and develop markets and account specific plans is critical. He/she plays a key role in the success of the business and assumes full responsibility for the organization.
The General Manager is leading edge in stakeholder management. To levels above, below, sideways and outside of the organization. The General Manager Vending & Beverages EMEA oversees all aspects of BC’s relationship with the clients in Vending, Coffee Roaster and Coffee Shops / Chains (HORECA) segments. For artisan & distribution into the bakery & horeca markets, the General Manager indirectly manages the sales efforts through the GM WE artisan & distribution team. Also relationships between the direct team members and Operations/Supply Chain/R&D and QA functional organizations on regional as well as global level need to be maintained, to create win/win situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Leading, directing, and controlling the activities for the respective market, so that it achieves its short and long-term commercial, financial and operating objectives (e.g. increased profitability, productivity, or market share) as set by the overall corporate business plan
Being responsible for coordination of all local activities in the different areas, in order to realize an efficient cooperation between all departments.
Having EBIT responsibility, responsible for realizing set margins / turnover / EBIT as per budget. Ambition to constantly overachieve and go beyond to drive best possible results.
Work closely with our local Management Team, motivating, coaching and supporting staff to ensure the overall performance of the team and achievement of business goals in a positive working environment.
Ensuring strong talent bench and succession plan
Establishing and functions/divisions.
Monitoring competitive activity in the region and ensuring that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated building strong client relationships over time that allow for continuity and ongoing representation, reinforced by sales support/delivery programs, and communications to other relevant company
Translating the BC group and the regional strategy into a Business Unit or Market strategy and driving the implementation in the area of responsibility.
Contributing with relevant information and proposals from a functional and local perspective to the regional strategy.
Completing Transformation of Project Gateway
Expand internationally within EMEA and to priority markets outside EMEA


ABOUT YOU - Things We Will Be Looking For
Professional qualifications
Master Degree in Business Administration or Sales & Marketing with 10 to 15 years of experience in sales/commercial roles and 5to 10 years’ experience in executive leadership from food related industry
Good commercial skills with strong negotiation ability
Excellent English skills, completed by mastering a second or third language
Experience of working in a multinational business context and in a complex matrix structure
Excellent implementation skills (hands-on) with a good understanding of translating strategy & concepts into action plans
Demonstrated ability to lead others, in different geographies
Strong skills to manage senior stakeholders, both internally as externally
Able to combine transformational projects & short term results delivery
