CERN is looking for a Junior Administrative Assistant to provide management support to a number of EU projects coordinated by CERN. Take part!
The EU Support Office of CERN (https://cerneu.web.cern.ch/home-page-eu) is looking for a dynamic, service-oriented assistant with experience in the management and administration of EU or national projects or grants.
The EU Support Office oversees the participation of CERN in the EU programmes for research and innovation, and takes part in the preparation and implementation of EU projects, carried out at CERN.
Functions:
As Junior Administrative Assistant, you will join the Project Management and Operational Support Section of the EU Support Group of CERN, and you will contribute to the administrative and operational management of several EU projects.
Your main functions will include:
- Assistance in the daily running of EU projects, incl. taking minutes / notes of meetings;
- Organization of user visits to CERN and reimbursement of travel expenses;
- Organization of project meetings and other events, including preparation and maintenance of sites for electronic agenda and online registration;
- Assistance in drafting reports for the European Commission, including preparation of graphs, charts and tables;
- Maintenance of web sites and electronic documentation and databases of EU projects;
- Collaboration at operational level with external and internal stakeholders on aspects related to the implementation and administration of EU projects.
Qualifications:
Technical certificate or general secondary education or equivalent relevant experience in the field of administration or a related field.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience as team or project assistant, preferably in a research organisation or in international environment;
- Experience with the administration of research and innovation projects and grants;
- Experience with the management of EU projects would be an asset.
Technical competencies:
- Customer service;
- Event organisation and management;
- Minute-writing;
- Use of office software packages: professional knowledge of Word and Excel;
- Use of web publishing tools (Drupal).

Language skills:
- Fluent spoken and written English: ability to understand and speak in professional contexts, as well as the ability to draft/prepare accurate texts.
- Working knowledge of French would be an asset.
