Scania Purchasing is responsible for purchasing products and services for all of Scania's units in the world. The Head office for Purchasing is in Södertälje. Purchasing is currently divided into four departments; two are responsible for purchasing direct materials for Scania's trucks, buses, and Power solutions and two are responsible for purchasing spare parts, superstructures, and indirect materials. Scania is currently in a shift from being a supplier of heavy vehicles to a supplier that offers complete and sustainable transport solutions. In parallel with this, Scania is leading the development of large common projects within TRATON, so this position at Purchasing will also give a chance for collaboration within the TRATON group.
We are currently looking for a new curious Junior Business Controller who wants to join our diverse team and strengthen us by taking us into the next step of automated working methods!
In your Junior Business Controller role, you will be part of the Controlling department at Purchasing but also work with line – and project-related tasks. You will be the right hand of the Group Manager and also support the Purchasing department Business Controllers. One of the biggest and most exciting challenges in finance at Scania right now is the transition to more automated working methods. It covers everything from processes to systems such as Power BI and RPAs, enabling more time for business support and proactive work.
Your manager
I have worked at Scania for 7 years where I have had various positions as Business Controller at Research & Development, Purchasing and Business Control Brazil. Since May 2022, I have been acting manager for the Business Controller team at Purchasing. Today my group consists of 7 people with a good spread both in terms of age, gender, and culture. It is with pleasure I lead this group that works result-oriented and is constantly driven by achieving short- and long-term goals. We are a strong team, which together solves the challenges we face, and most important of all is that we have fun at work.
Your work assignments
• Take part in book closing, Forecast, and investment process
• Consolidate and analyze numbers – and continuously improve our processes
• Lead projects connected to OPEX, material cost, and investment process
• Participate in cross-functional projects with Scania Financial Processes Centre (SFPC), Corporate Control etc
• Take lead in improvement work such as Power BI, RPA
• Support in Ad-Hoc tasks.
Your profile
You have an degree within finance, economics, or business administration with 0-2 years relevant work experience. Previous experience from Purchasing and/or accounting is preferable but not mandatory. You should have high social skills and have easy to create relationships as you will have a wide network with many contact points. You should have the ability to occasionally work at a high pace in a structured way and always strive to deliver what you promise.
We see that you have a genuine interest in systems such as very good knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint (requirement) and is a comfortable user of Power BI.
Finally, the environment at Purchasing is international so you need to be fluent in spoken and written English.
