Our Team – Commodity Exterior
We are responsible for procuring and maintaining supplies for exterior parts and components for our present vehicles and products. To keep up with increasing demands and changes in our environment, we are growing our group and are looking for a new buyer to become part of our journey.
We are a diverse team, consisting of 10 purchasers, with lots of experience in purchasing, enjoying working closely together. We like solving problems both within the team and with our cross-function and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania.

We are working in an international environment and collaborate closely with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton Group.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
As a Commodity Buyer, you will support some of the team’s Sourcing Managers with a variety of administrative and operational tasks, being involved in all aspects of the purchasing work. This will give you the chance to contribute from day one, to develop your skills over time, and to learn how to do business. You will have a lot of internal contacts within our cross-function as well as within our international supplier base.
The role is a perfect possibility to start your journey as a Purchasing Professional.
Your tasks will include:
• administrative tasks, such as invoice handling, updating price lists and issuing purchasing orders
• aligning, negotiating and implementing technical changes on parts and components
• support product cost optimization from identification to implementation
• you are also part of the wider teams working with the respective material groups, contributing to the strategic work and the development within those areas with your ideas
Your profile
• preferably a degree in engineering, business or relevant experience
• interest in both technology and business
• analytical, structured and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time
• taking own initiative and ability to work independently in alignment with others
• supportive and ability to cooperate with a variety of individuals
• fluent in spoken and written English
• professional and convincing in your communication
