ABOUT THE COMPANY

Founded in 2013, Alight (previously Eneo) is the leading solar Power Purchase Agreement provider in the Nordics. We are committed to helping large corporations save money and do good, now and in the long term, through sustainable solar technology.

The corporate world is waking up to the need to utilize solar energy to lower cost and reduce carbon footprint, as well as to hedge against market risks. We have 39 solar PPA projects under management or under construction, with a total effect of over 15 MW. Currently we are developing more than 100 MW of PPA-based onsite and offsite projects across Europe. Our 25 employees are active all over Europe, proving that a small and specialized team can have a big impact. Our goal is to reach at least 1 GW of solar PPA contracts by 2025.

We invest in cutting-edge digital abilities and storage solutions to maximize our customer’s economic value of solar energy. We continuously upgrade our PPA contracts to reflect the evolving ability of solar assets to participate in markets and provide grid services.

Alight was founded in 2013 by Swedish entrepreneurs Harald Överholm (CEO), Richard Nicolin (CFO), and Wilhelm Löwenhielm (Chairman of the Board). The idea was born during Harald’s doctoral dissertation about solar PPA at the University of Cambridge. Harald saw the potential in building a pan-European team with specialist knowledge in solar PPAs, that could accelerate large corporations’ transition to clean energy through simple and cost-efficient solutions.
