Junior Data Analyst – Temporary Position
Gothenburg, Sweden
Help us deliver ‘ah-ha’ moments from our data.
Nothing beats being part of positive change. We’re on a truly exciting journey, working together in a fast-paced global environment to break new ground in almost every aspect of our operations. Right now, we have an exciting job opening for you as an Improvement Driver!
About Us:
We are the People Analytics team, and we create analytics processes that bring insights into our People Experience, (Human Resources) processes. These insights have led to significant changes in these processes, resulting in making Volvo Cars an even better place to work. We currently have an important opportunity to strengthen our team with a new member – and that person could be you!
What`s in it for you?
You will be involved in all phases of our processes, from understanding the business need for an analytics solution, to analyzing data in our source systems, and all the way through to designing and delivering the end product. We work with the global community and a very diverse set of people, cultures, and systems – which support all employees of Volvo Cars. You will be at once both challenged and supported to deal with the complexity, as we deliver highly reliable analytics the business relies upon.
What you will do:
In this role you will be part of a truly cross-functional agile team where learning is a key ingredient. You will likely learn new technologies and systems, learn how the systems are related to each other, and how to handle the challenges. Because we work in the area of People Experience (PX), you will be exposed to and learn about processes such as Recruitment, Compensation, and Performance, as well as the applications supporting these areas globally.
A sample of your daily tasks could include extracting data from our source systems, analyzing data in Excel, and validating that the changes we make in our processes meet the requested business needs. But don’t expect the next day’s tasks to be the same, things develop quickly and there will always be new challenges.
Our team works using Agile principles and practices. We plan our own work, we choose how we work and which tools we use, we hold ourselves accountable for what we have committed to, and we deliver frequently. We welcome your experience in Agile, but if you have not worked in this environment earlier then you can learn with us. We are always learning.
Your Skills:
We can imagine that you are a recent graduate in a relevant field, such as Human Resources, IT, or Business, or you could be just starting your career in the Analytics field. Working with and analyzing data is natural to you, (at least in Excel), and you have a knowledge of how data is stored and could be used for analysis. You are willing to work hard and pitch-in as a member of a team and even willing to accept personal failure at times – we are.
It is not required but it would be fantastic if you also had technical skills and experience in any of the following:
• Human Resources domain knowledge
• SuccessFactors – Reporting & Analytics
• Power BI or other BI analytics tools, Glint or similar people listening tools
• Information models, databases, Azure, advanced analytics, or Python
Do you fit the profile?
You are a true collaborator with a growth mind-set, and you enjoy bringing people from different areas of expertise together to solve real problems. You see the importance of building relations and creating trust with everyone you meet, which helps you drive transparency, alignment, and effective ways of working. And you’re also out to have a great deal of fun at work!
