Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
As Digital is one of the key drivers in the ecosystem of logistics and sustainable transport solutions, Scania in 2017 established a strategic central function with the aim of accelerating digitalization across Scania – named the Scania Digital Office. Digital transformation is today engaging all parts of Scanias business, from Product Development, Order to delivery to Sales & Service delivery. The central function is headed by Chief Digital Officer Mikael Cato, reporting to CEO.
The key responsibility areas for the Digital office going forward are
• Inspire, challenge and work jointly with key decision makers to set the Digital direction for Scania and ensure the Digital transformation gets embedded and driven throughout the business
• Build select Digital capabilities and in those drive step change in maturity across the organization
The digitalisation efforts are managed and executed cross-functionally through
• CEO and Executive Board with integrated digital governance, aiming at speed and impact with both here and now objectives as well as targets set in the 2025 strategy
• Business or functional CDOs working in integrated in each of the functions management teams
• A Digital officer network incl. their local digital offices, led by business representatives
• A central team of strategic, digital and transformational competences (the Digital Office)
The Digital Office consist of three teams, one team managing strategy. To this team we are now recruiting two junior digital strategists, who will be part of establishing the fundamentals in driving and calibrating the Digital direction for Scania.
Your tasks
Scania is accelerating our digital journey– ranging from operational excellence, digitalisation of customer interactions, developing new digital products and services to adopting new digital business models. The aim for this role is to strongly contribute to the further development and deployment of Scania’s strategy and capabilities for our 2025 perspective. The role will be key in enabling Scania to execute on our positioning in the ecosystem of logistics and sustainable transport.
The main tasks are the following
• Be part of a team of Digital strategists serving different dimensions of Scania business domains
• Contribute to keeping the team members and Scania leaders up to date regarding relevant digital trends and developments
• Together with the team, establish and maintain a framework for digital strategy development, covering elements like; trend analyses, benchmarking, identification of digital business opportunities, internal capability analyses, KPI and target setting as well as road map definition
• Work together with the team members and Scania leaders to develop and maintain Scania’s digital business strategy that are well aligned with the overall strategy
• Find creative and inspiring ways to communicate the digital strategy to various key stakeholders across Scania in order to ensure understanding and adoption
Your profile
• You have a Master’s degree or equivalent and 3+ years of experience working with strategy and/or digital business transformation
• You have experience in participating in strategy development processes and skilled in developing business cases and driving workshops as well as performing internal and external business analysis
• You have experience of digital transformation programs including system development projects and implementation
