Job description
We are now looking for a new team member to ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) in Stockholm. You will work as a Junior Scientific Expert and support the DPR Unit (Disease Programmes Unit) and in particular the Respiratory Viruses and Legionella Section (RVL Section). This particular position will support one disease group, which is Travel-Associated Legionnaire’s Disease (TALD). You will report to the Group Leader of the RVL Section. The position requires IT skills as it is to support the move to a new reporting portal that is used by member states and partners to report on several diseases. This is a temporary assignment starting as soon as possible and four months forward.

Tasks include:
Provide support to the Travel-Associated Legionnaire’s Disease (TALD) routine monitoring and to its implementation in the new ECDC EpiPulse platform (EpiPulse - the European surveillance portal for infectious diseases (europa.eu)).

Specifically:
Provide disease-specific input and support the development of the new data infrastructure for TALD data in collaboration with Legionnaire’s Disease ECDC experts;
Participate to user acceptance testing (UAT) of TALD workflows in EpiPulse, including multi-user system testing;
Contribute to manual cleaning of TALD data due to data migration into the new system;
Coordination of the go-live phase from the business perspective and its administrative content (e.g. monitoring activities, organising meetings, following versioning of documents and collating procedures and relevant business documents, communication with network and stakeholders);
Support users of EpiPulse TALD after the go-live.

Qualifications
Education at university level in an area related to the activities of ECDC such as medicine, public health or similar, and relevant professional experience of at least 1 year following the award of the degree.
Administrative skills: well-organised person, able to deliver according to a set timeline, able to coordinate and work with others across the organisation, high attention to detail, good capacity to follow processes and procedures and to raise questions accordingly;
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment with disease and IT experts;
Ability to work with stakeholders;
Some understanding of infectious diseases surveillance (data collection, data flows, data storage);
Very good English language skills;
Excellent communication skills (spoken and written).
