For our office in Stockholm we are looking for a Junior Fundamental Analyst.
In this role you analyse the Nordic power markets and the future of the power system. Your work has high impact on decisions in our core business, e.g. for the optimal usage of our assets, the development of successful trading strategies or the valuation of investment projects.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as fundamental analyst will be:
Provide fundamental analysis of the Nordic power markets to support trading strategies as well as our asset optimization business
Development and maintenance of our power market model landscape. This entails a large share of programming (Python) and data handling
Active engagement with our stakeholders in BA Markets and Vattenfall Group



Our ideal analyst has the following qualifications and capabilities:
You hold a mathematical degree (e.g. engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent qualification and experience)
High computer literacy, in particular programming skills, preferably Python
Excellent English language skills, both verbally and written; Swedish language skills are a plus
Knowledge about the energy and power markets and/or power market modelling is not a must, but beneficial

Within Vattenfall, Business Area (BA) Markets optimizes assets and effectively sources and trades commodities, thus ensuring best value for both Vattenfall and our customers. BA Markets is active across Europe with around 450 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.
In BA Markets the mission of the Unit OU Operations is to drive the digital transformation. OU Operations consists of diverse and highly skilled employees from more than 20 countries. We work internationally from our locations in Stockholm, Hamburg and Amsterdam.
The Fundamental Analysis team provides analyses of our core Continental and Nordic power markets and drives the development of our fundamental price forecasting model landscape. Our work has high impact on the success of our trading and asset optimization businesses, and you contribute to decision making on a corporate level.
