Junior Hardware Engineer

We now have the opportunity for a Junior Hardware Engineer to join the R&D Team. This role will be a key contributor in executing detailed electronic design of new products, coordinating with system engineers to ensure the design is using the right technology in the right way, will support the system needs of the embedded software engineers, will support the chosen system topology and can be manufactured.

Our Global R&D team works on a diverse range of products and technology including intelligent camera systems, battery sipping security sensors, advanced access control solutions, bespoke user interface devices and the Verisure Central Unit which acts as the “brain” of the system enabling communications between all devices and the Verisure backend.

The role will be located at our R&D Center in Malmö, Sweden. As we are a global company with multiple R&D centers and suppliers worldwide, some travel may be required.

Core Tasks:
* Detailed design and delivery of the EE and RF systems in new products.
* Schematic, power tree, clock tree, RF, antenna and PCB for a new product being manufactured with an EMS.
* For JDM or ODM projects, a subset of the tasks may be required depending on the distribution of work and level of oversite required.
* Bring-up of prototypes in collaboration with embedded software engineering team o Partner with EMS to facilitate creation, test and evaluation of factory test equipment.
* Facilitate “design for cost” and “design for manufacturability” reviews, often with a 3rd party independent company.
* Ensure our design will meet CE, EN and other relevant certifications.
* Creation and execution of hardware test plans for EVT, DVT and PVT. On more complex products, we will bring in temporary contractors for execution of test plans as in many cases this is lower value work.

Qualifications:
* University degree within Electrical Engineering or similar, preferably M.Sc.
* Passion to work in an agile fashion with an international mindset.
* Fluent in English.
* Previous experience in HW Development – preferable in a low power battery operated wireless systems.
* Master of Science of Electrical Engineering or similar
* Software development experience is a plus (Scripting or Embedded).
