About the role
Our vision is to supply the best IT support possible. Contacting IT Support should be a fast, accurate and pleasant experience for our people. As Junior IT-Support Engineer your mission is to ensure a productive, secure and efficient IT working environment for all Northmill employees. As well as supporting our employees in all IT related incidents and requests.
Your main focus is to maintain our IT environment and provide excellent support to our employees. You ensure that all IT support related tickets and questions are responded to, handled and resolved in a quick and accurate manner. Your colleagues rely on you to help them in a time of need when things go wrong or when they have a question. You will at your best ability resolve the issues and answer the questions, no issue is too small for you to handle.
We believe that a key factor to be able to give fast support is to be proactive and solve problems before they arise. You do that by keeping computers and software up to date and by sharing your knowledge with colleagues on how to maintain a device (workstation/laptop/mobile phone/tablet/etc.) to the best possible state. We believe in being humble team players and always helping each other regardless of the issue.
Hardware
- Proactively handle hardware installation & support when needed. Sometimes you can solve them yourself and sometimes you need help from vendors or suppliers.
Software
- Proactively handle software installation & support when needed. Keep Company Portal in Microsoft endpoint manager (formerly Intune) up-to-date with the lastest reliable software version. Keep track of security updates for software used and update them in a timely manner.
Workflows
- Keep workflows up to date and adjust them when new roles are appointed and when the organization changes. Develop new functions to improve workflows with new features and permissions to more applications.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Make sure that starters get the equipment and account information they need to perform their work and give them an introduction when they start. And make sure to offboard employees who leave.
About you
We are looking for someone with a strong passion for tech and service with a strong personal drive. You share our core values, meaning you are curious, relentless, active, focused and thorough in the things you do. You should have previous experience in a similar role and/or have a relevant education within IT.
