The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for scientific research using neutrons. Every year, we host over 2000 visits by scientists, who come to the Institute to carry out world-class research.

Junior Project Accountant
Duties
The ILL is a not-for-profit company constituted under French civil law ('société civile') and is subject to the French accounting regulations applicable to companies in the private sector. You will join the ILL's Administration Division, where you will work under the responsibility of the Head of Finance and his deputy. The Institute's Finance Service is currently reviewing and updating its procedures and, more particularly, the digital processing of its accounting information. In this context, your duties, which may change as the Finance Service evolves, will focus primarily on the following:
-Accounts payable (validation, data entry, payment, verification of accounts, processing of reminders, etc.) for an annual budget of 100 million euros (excl. VAT),
- Cash accounts,
- Payroll accounts (workforce of more than 500 staff),
- Fixed assets accounts,
- Sales accounts,
- Monitoring of VAT and "DAS2" declarations (annual fiscal declaration of fees paid to third parties),
- Providing secretarial support (processing of mail, drafting of documents, etc.),
- Assisting with the year-end audit of the accounts,
- Contributing to the updating of our procedures and the move towards digital solutions,
- Assisting with budgetary control.
Qualifications and experience:
- QCF Level 4 qualification (AAT/NVQ or equivalent) in accounting or business,
- Some initial professional experience (internship or work-study experience accepted) in an accounting firm and/or in an SME,
- You have a good understanding of the French accounting system and regulations,
- You are familiar with the MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, etc.); knowledge of the Qualiac software would be an advantage,
- You have an open-minded and flexible attitude, allowing you to interact easily with different internal and external stakeholders.
Language skills
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must be fluent in French. Knowledge of English and/or German would be an advantage.
