Job description
We are now looking for a new team member for our client ECDC in Stockholm. You will work as a Junior Scientific Expert and support the PHF Unit (Public Heath Function Unit) with a focus on infectious disease surveillance. This is a temporary assignment starting immediately and six months forward. For the right person there is a good chance of extension.

Responsibilities
The interim will report to the Group Leader of the General Surveillance Group.
You will support the IPA Project carried out by ECDC. The IPA project (Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance - IPA) works to prepare national authorities of Western Balkans and Türkiye (WBT) for their future participation in ECDC activities. Especially, for infectious disease surveillance.
Tasks include:
Coordination of infectious disease surveillance activities related to the project;
Preparation of analysis scripts to integrate Western Balkan data in routine surveillance reports;
Support the IPA participants during data reporting to ECDC: provide technical support, facilitate data validation and approval during the data submission process, provide data quality feedback;
Analysis and reporting — perform regular analyses of surveillance data from WBT IPA beneficiaries, produce joined surveillance reports;
Support the communication to facilitate the exchange of good practices within WBT, between these and EU member states;
Support the team with the organisation of capacity building activities for the WBT.
Qualifications
In addition to the profile specification, these specific competences and experience are required for the current assignment:
Public health, epidemiology, surveillance;
Data analysis using statistical software (R or Stata);
Very good English language skills
Excellent communication skills (spoken and written);
Diplomatic skills;
Very good MS office skills.
ECDC has introduced a hybrid working model with a minimum presence in the office of 2 days/week and you will need to be located in Stockholm or nearby.
