Arbetsbeskrivning
Flightradar24 is the world’s most popular flight tracking service. More than 2 million people use our website and mobile apps every day. When something exciting happens, such as when the pope or the Antonov An-225 are flying, our servers get pummeled.
In addition to our systems and cloud infrastructures we operate a globally distributed network of 30,000 Raspberry Pi-based radio receivers, feeding real-time aircraft data into our platform.
We’re now looking for a driven junior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team who is a fast learner and wants to work with modern data center and cloud operations.
What you’ll do
Maintain and evolve our system infrastructure based on a modern virtualized data center environment as well as AWS and Azure cloud services
Standardize and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources via Infrastructure-as-Code, orchestration, and configuration management
Optimize the reliability and performance of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including networking, virtualization, SAN and other storage
Contribute to and support scaling out of infrastructure and services to cloud platforms
Interact closely with our developers to deliver a highly performant and reliable live production platform, and investigate production issues for continuous improvement
Be part of developing our future private cloud based on open technologies like OpenStack, Ceph, and KVM, and integration with public clouds
Over time work with much of our tech stack, including: Linux, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis Cluster, RabbitMQ, Haproxy, Nginx, VMware ESXi, Juniper network equipment, Dell EMC SAN, Cloudflare, AWS, Azure, Datadog, Jenkins
Who you are
You strive to learn new technologies and are interested of taking your existing skills to the next level
A self-starter who naturally assumes responsibility for driving projects forward
Reasonably strong experience with Linux, either you are self taught or you have relevant experience through studies or previous work experience
It’s a plus if you also have experience with some (but not necessarily all) other parts of our platform technology, e.g. data center equipment, networking, cloud (AWS), virtualization, automation, scripting, or web/online technology
Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Comfortable working in a distributed team of multiple nationalities
Note that although our company has a flexible remote work model, our data center is located outside of Stockholm, Sweden, so proximity to this location is required.
