We are currently looking for Junior Engineers to be a part of our ACH-BACS Payment Networks Team. This team is responsible for direct debit payments in the US and the UK markets, with millions of dollars and pounds flowing through their systems every month! The team is looking for someone interested in functional programming (think map / filter / reduce). If you're someone who have played around with, read about, or enjoyed a university or online course in Scala, Erlang, Lisp or Haskell, this role is a great way to get some practical experience together with a team that enjoys teaching and learning together!
This position is based out of our Stockholm office.
As a Junior Software Engineer at Klarna you will:
Work on a specific problem space critical to Klarna’s success
Develop as a professional in an entrepreneurial organization that provides opportunity to work with your areas of interest
Use state of the art technology to solve real problems for our customers at a massive scale
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve, you own the full life-cycle of your code - you write it, you own it!
Work in small autonomous teams while using the benefits of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

What we expect from you:
Interest in functional programming
Strong problem solving skills
Some experience with one or more general purpose programming languages like Java, JavaScript, Python, etc. (does not have to be professional experience)
Interest and ability to learn new languages and technologies
Fluency in written and spoken English
