Junior Software Tester in Embedded Linux system

About the role

By working closely with the developers who develop and maintain the Gateway, you will be testing and securing their deliverables during the development phase. You will also be involved in our release process and be accountable for delivering software updates over the air to millions of homes and small businesses.

Together with the test team, you will evolve our ways of working to increase efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, analyse, and report issues as well as suggest improvements to further improve and secure our Verisure products and services for our customers.

We understand that a junior software tester will need support and guidance, therefore our team will provide you with what you need to kick-start your career, help you gain knowledge, turned to experience, and be proficient in your profession as a software tester.

About the candidate profile

We are looking for a curious junior software tester who are motivated by learning and growing professionally.

We expect you to have worked with or want to learn more about testing embedded Linux systems. We expect you to be familiar with Linux OS and is not afraid of writing scripts.

A successful candidate shall have good communication skills, both verbally and written, and the ability to clearly convey tailored information to both developers and stakeholders.

Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent work experience, or conceptual knowledge of fundamentals within Software testing
* Can performs routine assignments​
* Ability to perform structured work assignments​
* Can use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems​
* Can receive instructions and guidance and able to learn and grow
* Experience in JIRA or other issue tracking system
* Experience in Xray or other test management tools
* Preferably basic knowledge in Python and/or C
* Good technical communication skills, both written and oral
* Proficient English skills, both written and verbally

Our Global R&D team works on a diverse range of products and technology including intelligent camera systems, battery sipping security sensors, advanced access control solutions, and bespoke user interface devices.

Our test team is responsible securing and testing our gateway software, which can be divided into two main software blocks: the platform software and the alarm application software. Since the gateway is the brain of the alarm system, testing the gateway will require knowledge of the entire alarm system, how our backend is operating, as well as how our components are functioning.
