Junior Sustainability & Compliance Officer (Vattenfall AB)

Vattenfall AB is looking for two junior Compliance & Sustainability Specialists with placement in either Berlin (Germany), Amsterdam (the Netherlands) or Solna (Sweden).
The function is placed within the Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) Team of SF Sustainability currently consisting of 2 senior sustainability advisors, 3 temporary strategy analysts, the manager, a senior compliance & sustainability specialist and the advertised positions.
As a part of supporting the integration of sustainability within Goods & Services Procurement and Fuels sourcing, the team is becoming a competence center performing (enhanced) due diligence on behalf of other units in the Vattenfall-wide counterparty screening process. In this process counterparties are scrutinized with regard to risk for money laundering, terrorism financing, lacking social responsibility etc. The team is also responsible for compliance with regulations, which includes tasks such as trainings, controls and the drafting of internal instructions.


Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Conduct Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence by reviewing and approving counterparties, both at onboarding of the counterparties and as part of the ongoing monitoring of existing counterparties for Procurement Goods & Services
• Conduct Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence by reviewing and approving counterparties towards other units e.g. Mergers & Acquisitions, BA Wind etc…
• Support with the roll-out of training materials to other units that need screening support e.g. BA Wind, Mergers & Acquisitions, Nuclear Fuels etc…
• Support with the documentation of screenings as well as gathering of various types of statistics on compliance activities (in relation to KPI’s)
• Perform benchmarks and desktop studies, support and participate in activities related to the Sustainable Supply Chain Roadmap and other activities with the Sustainability team aimed at further develop and integrate sustainability into Vattenfall’s processes and activities
• Perform code of conduct comparisons and evaluations, audit report reviews and provide recommendations


Requirements:
• A university degree in economics, sustainability with compliance related focus or law
• 1-5 years’ compliance experience reviewing counterparties (suppliers/customers) is a must
• Strong interest in sustainability (environmental, social and governance) topics and a willingness to develop in that area
• Excellent English skills are required, mandarin is a merit
• Strong ability to work in excel (data gathering) and ppt (presentation materials)
