Arbetsbeskrivning
The transport industry is undergoing a paradigm shift. Technological developments will over time revolution the relationship Scania has with its customers and the company’s role in the transport value chain. Through this transformation Scania will adapt from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to also being a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Mobility Solutions is our new business area with the mission to lead Scania’s ambition to take a larger role in the transport ecosystem. Initially Mobility Solutions primarily focus on driving Scania’s autonomous transport roadmap and providing Transport-as-a-Service (LOTS Group). Now, we look to develop and deliver new businesses supporting Scania’s long-term growth and profitability through our new Corporate Venturing function.
The position
At Scania Ventures, we invite our colleagues to think outside the box and offer the possibility to build ventures (start-ups) within the company. We will continuously drive a number of ventures in parallel, and you will have an important role in supporting and building these. Often, you will be a part of a small venture team focusing on exploring a new business idea that can become key for Scania in the future. Other times, you will be working on evaluating what venture(s) to accelerate next.
As part of Mobility Solutions, you and the venture operate under a high degree of freedom and autonomy, while also having access to expertise and supporting functions e.g. legal/HR/finance. You will be reporting to Head of Scania Ventures.
At Scania Ventures we believe that people thrive in a positive, dynamic, purpose-driven and result-oriented culture. Therefore, we are a small team of great people who have fun and feel confident together. We keep calm and continue to drive change during uncertain circumstances.
Key Tasks
As we are at the early stages of establishing our Corporate Venturing business, we are recruiting high-performing talents to both accelerate new business ventures and a small, tight core team to run and operate the function.
Your key tasks may vary over time but will include:
• Be part of and later potentially lead high-performing teams that develop new ventures with the goal to generate new revenue streams for Scania in strategically selected areas
• Be part of defining the vision, develop a strategy and business plan for the venture
• Operationally run business and product development of the venture, including participating in customer meetings, setting product roadmap, working with competitor analysis and business model development
• You will be relied upon to support the Venture board dialogues by producing relevant analysis, presentations and other material
• External monitoring – Stay attentive, to what is going on in the continuously changing environment – adapt the initiative's strategy to best position it
The Candidate
We seek someone who demonstrates determination, curiosity, and a belief in teamwork. Apart from that we also think you love building long-lasting relationships, trying new things, working smarter not harder, thriving in uncertainty, getting inspired by a constantly evolving environment and can stay calm during pressure.
It is crucial that you are a positive influence and a good collaborator as you will interact with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders. Good communication skills are key since you will be interacting closely with business executives both across the company and externally.
As a person, you always have a strategic mindset but eager and ready to support where needed.
Requirements
• You are a tireless inspirer - You probably influence people merely by your presence and have vast experience and innate communicative savviness
• You have a doer mentality combined with high strategic capabilities
• You have experience working with scale-ups or successful startups
• You have experience in sales and financial models
• You have extensive experience in delivering with high precision in stressful and complex situations
• You have a high ability to build and develop lasting relationships to drive change
