Outpost24 is currently looking for one or more new members to join our Vulnerability Research department!
This position is suitable for those who want to venture into security automation and development as an opportunity to start your career in the space provided you have the right mindset and talent we are looking for, or those who want to move from a related work into a position with an IT security company.
The VR team is part of Outpost24 Ghost Labs, which hosts a group of ethical hackers, web application analysts and others associated with vulnerability identification. The VR team work with developing the components of our tools that finds security vulnerabilities in customers networks, cloud platforms, web applications and wireless networks. The work is largely focused on automated information gathering, definitions of vulnerabilities and creations of what we call “rules” for helping our solutions determine the state of systems we investigate.
The team you would join have a great team spirit, are happy to help, young, dynamic and positive. When not in a pandemic, we strive to have a social and fun work environment and enjoy the company of each other with game-nights, joint labs webinars on cool new hacks and tools, BBQs and after works.
The work has some repetitive elements, one of your tasks is to automate those as much as possible with the rest of the team, which means you will also be contributing to making a fun workplace continually more challenging and rewarding.
So, who are you?
It's great if you know python, you may have dabbled in perl, Golang seems interesting, and you understand the basics of operating systems, preferably you are comfortable using the command line interface in Windows and Linux. If you need to check something 1000 times, you have a script for that.
You will be working primarily with implementing compliance policies into audit elements in the tooling, which is a combination of creating rules in the tools as well as minor command line automation from the same tooling. You pride yourself on quality, and understand that there is a repetitive nature to the work until you are able to help increase its automation.
Education
You most likely have a formal education, be it in programming, IT security, networking, engineering with programming, game design or a range of other potential backgrounds making you suitable. A compensating work life experience, or an ability to demonstrate self-developed skills also can also be suitable, as they make little difference for how well you can fit in.

This role is a permanent position and will be located in our beautiful office in the center of Karlskrona, Sweden.
