Key Account Manager for Chinese OEM’s, Trucks

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Within the Sales and Marketing department for Trucks, we have a group responsible for direct factory sales to international OEM’s. We have currently 6 people focusing on this business and by that complementing Scania’s normal business model which is to sell through Distributors and dealers. We are managing cross boarder business that would not have been done otherwise within the normal Scania structure. We are currently looking at strengthening the team and our presence in China in line with Scania’s overall strategy.

 

Your Role

In close cooperation with the cross functional “China desk team” and Scania China you will be driving our very important special vehicles sales in China. We are today working with a selected number of partners but we know we have only scratched the surface so far, hence the opportunities are immense. Prospecting and identifying new business opportunities and building long-term relationships with valuable OEM accounts in China will be your core focus. You will be responsible to manage a number of accounts, build strong relationships with them, identify challenges and opportunities, and find ways to mitigate challenges and secure the opportunities. Managing cross-functional collaboration will be your success factor to benefit the customer and to safe guard that we deliver according to the contract as well as following up Scania’s profitability and continuously grow the business.

Who you are?

With a lot of end-customer interaction, as well as numerous internal cross-functional collaboration interfaces, we are looking for true a team player with strong entrepreneurial drive and very strong customer focus. Where others might see road blocks, you tend to rather see it as a manageable challenge since you know that if the issue gets resolved, Scania will obtain profitable business not only here and now but likely for a long period of time.

We are looking for a person with good business acumen, excellent social skills, and analytical skills. Ability to smoothly interact and lead cross-functional teams within Scania as well as with third parties is a requirement. Well-developed communication, presentation, and leadership skills are required.

Our ideal candidate is someone with an international sales experience, a business driven person with demonstrated business skills. You are collaborative, fast-moving, comfortable with change, culture competent and excited to go above and beyond for customers.

The candidate must be able to speak and write English fluently. Knowledge in other languages is highly welcome, especially Chinese. The candidate shall also be a holder of an academic technical- or business degree.
