MSF Sweden is looking for an INTERIM Communications Officer Closing date: 4 October 2009 Location: Stockholm, Sweden Position: Communications Officer Responsible to: Head of Communications Starting Date: October 2009 Contract duration: 12 months Type of contract: Temporary Position (vikariat) Salary: According to MSF Sweden salary policy GENERAL PRESENTATION MSF Sweden is a respected and visible actor for humanitarian principles and action in the Swedish civil society, with a strong presence in media.MSF Sweden was founded by Swedish doctors in 1993.As a partner in the international MSF movement, MSF Sweden exists to assist populations in danger by recruiting medical and non-medical fieldworkers, by raising funds and by raising awareness and provoke change through the act of temoignage (bear witness), or advocacy.Since its foundation, the Swedish section has grown at an impressive rate.In 2008, the Swedish section had 105 departures of field workers to the field.A board consist of nine national and two international members and represents the association.The office of MSF Sweden consists of 28 full-time positions and around 50 committed office volunteers.RAISON D'ETRE , MISSION AND NATURE OF THE POSITION To be responsible for the coordination of MSF Sweden's campaign and information activities in close collaboration with the various positions at the Communications department and the other key departments; mainly Fundraising, Programmes and Human Resources.DUTIES -To take a leading role in MSF Sweden's external communication campaigns.-To produce and facilitate the production of information material needed by the different departments and the office itself.-To produce material for the Swedish website.-To serve the general public with information about MSFs operations.-To support and back up the Press Officer and the Web Editor.JOB REQUIREMENTS (Competences) -Campaign experience.-Project management.-Experience in the field of communication.-Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken Swedish and English.-Good knowledge of national and international media functioning systems.-High level interpersonal and liaison skills, including demonstrated ability to work flexibly and cooperatively in a cross-cultural environment.-Flexibility, sense of initiative, team spirit.In the subject line please write you name + Communications Officer.Please note that your entire application shall be written in English.For questions please use the e-mail address stated above.We have limited possibilities to answer questions concerning this position via telephone.
