CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions, part of CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, is a leading global provider of Scientific Support Services. We are recruiting a Lab Automation Engineer to join the team located at AstraZeneca in Mölndal; to manage, organize and implement high-quality specialist engineering and coordination support to a wide range of laboratory equipment including the supporting tasks in the lab space to drive quality and efficiency for the client’s scientific staff.
The role is responsible for the Service Delivery and engineering support of the CM/Automation CoE.
This would include but not be limited to, Cell analytical equipment, Liquid Handling devices, Flow Cytometry, Target equipment base Brooks, Labcyte, Agilent, Thermo, Hamilton, Molecular Devices, Matrix, Tecan, Beckman, Compound Management Storage, Microplate Imaging.
This role will be part of the account-based team and have support, training, access to the CBRE Integrated Laboratory Solutions group network.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure prompt, flexible, customer focused equipment support whilst maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory and engineering standards
Manage and improve the service logging process and asset database
Diagnose faults on complex equipment and systems utilizing the multi-disciplinary support internal and external to the team to produce a satisfactory solution.
Create, manage and review supporting documentation e.g. service reports
Monitor the performance of the scientific equipment and systems using Key Performance Indicators to instigate improvements and influence changes
Support users in the preparation/design of operating procedures, SOPs, Change Control and the deviation, manuals and drawings.
Management of observations, CAPAs, root cause analysis
Attend client meetings to review on-going performance, areas for continual improvement
Health, Safety Environmental Arrangements
Raise and/or follow task-based Risk Assessments/Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH, Manual Handling and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) ensuring that controls are fully met. Carry out high risk tasks in full compliance with CBRE Procedures, Guidance and Rules, and in accordance with responsibilities/duties specified within CBRE arrangements when appointed as an Authorized/Competent Person. Clean up areas on completion of engineering work and maintain the cleanliness of lab equipment and workshops ensuring that the area is free from engineering debris and waste.
Act as a receiving authority under CBRE Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) when trained and authorized to safely carry out the duties and responsibilities of an authorized and/or competent person.
Requirements
Certificate or Degree in relevant engineering and/or science discipline
5+ years’ experience within the Laboratory Instrument Support sector across a wide range of scientific and/or automated systems
Very strong analytical skills with proven ability to break down and solve complex problems in a logical and structured approach
PC literate in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Strong relationship management and excellent communication skills/influencing skills
Ability to work to own initiative but team orientated and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in Swedish and English.
Robust and assertive attitude towards achieving results and motivating team members
