We are now seeking our next colleague, a Laboratory Engineer, within Nouryon Performance Formulations, Sweden. As Laboratory Engineer, you main area of responsibility is within new and existing product development in the Product Chemistry group. The candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and developing the equipment of the Product Chemistry department, with a strong focus on autoclaves and similar types of reactors. With a long experience in practical lab equipment maintenance, the candidate is also able to suggest and independently implement improvements. The role is placed in a group of 6 researchers and is part of a dynamic work of taking new products from the idea stage to finished multi-ton batches with many stake-holders along the way.
Main responsibilities
Act as an expert in process chemistry related tasks and questions in relations to new product development and research, process optimizations, customer complaints as well as in trouble shooting in the plant
Responsibility of equipment and instruments with the aim to maintain modern and efficient facilities that fulfil quality demands and HSE legislations.
Run assignments in accordance with prioritizations both for internal and external customers, and interpret the results. Report the results according to the routines in the management system.
Independently maintain autoclaves and run reactions in glassware and autoclaves, and assist in reactions in the pilot plant.
Qualifications
B.Sc or M. Sc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with 5-7 years of documented experience
Minimum 5 years of documented experience of practical laboratory skills and/or pilot work.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swedish.
Good track record of project leadership

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Section Manager Product Chemistry Sts and based in Stenungsund, Sweden.
