We are looking for a laboratory assistant in chemistry for a fixed-term position at the Man-Technology-Environment research centre.
Background
The Man-Technology-Environment Research Centre (MTM) at Örebro University is a strong research environment focusing on applied research on chemical compounds of different origin in the environment and their relations to sustainable development. This includes identification of hazardous chemicals enabling actions for their removal from the environment. In a new project focusing on determination of perfluoroalkyl/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food (e.g. fish, meat, egg), we are looking for a laboratory assistant with experience in working with PFAS analysis in food.
Duties and responsibilities
The laboratory assistant will support the analysis of PFAS in food samples within the Swedish Food Agency project. The work includes sample extraction, separation, identification and quantification of the target compounds including necessary QA/QC steps and documentation of the results.
Qualifications
The candidate shall have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or equivalent degree and be very familiar with the steps of chemical analysis of food samples at trace levels using LC/MS-MS method. Fluency in English is required.

This is a fixed-term full-time position for 3 months. At Örebro University, salary depends on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience (and where appropriate, positions are subject to a trial period).
