The Oatly Way
We are the world’s original and largest oat drink company. For over 25 years, we have exclusively focused on developing expertise around oats: a global power crop with inherent properties suited for sustainability and human health. Our commitment to oats has resulted in core technical advancements that enabled us to unlock the breadth of the dairy portfolio, including alternatives to milks, ice cream, yogurt, cooking creams, and spreads. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, the Oatly brand is available in more than 20 countries globally.
Why YOU might like to join the oat cult:
Guess what! Our Quality department is growing. As more and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet, Oatly is driving this change in the food industry, but that doesn't mean our sustainability ambitions are only related to oats.
Are you keen to put your laboratory experience to work driving a shift to a more sustainable food system? Maybe even have some fun and develop your own skills along the way? Then you’re in the right place. Keep reading, and see if it’s a match for both of us. We hope so!
Here’s what you would do,
As a Laboratory Assistant in our Laboratory team at the Landskrona site, you will have a key role in ensuring that Oatly’s customers are always provided with Oatsome products with the highest quality standards. The team is handling sample analysis and quality controls on all products produced at Landskrona plant.
This is wonderful opportunity for a service minded Biomedical Scientist (BMA) to get in the game and ensuring quality in our products!
The role is a temporary position on a parental cover, for 8-12 months approx. We would really like for you to join in June for a proper hand-over and training!
Here’s what a Laboratory Assistant can expect in the day-to-day:
- Continuous analysis work and operational control (product, packaging, environmental samples)
- Documentation and archiving of analysis results
- Approval / rejection of samples from current production.
- In collaboration with the production staff, ensure that the necessary samples are taken
- Report quality deviations that are detected
- Register analysis results in statistical documents for follow-up.
- Inventory and order materials for the laboratory
This is the job today - but who knows what tomorrow
brings? Oatly is still growing and so being comfortable with change in a high-paced environment will really help you grow in the role.
Does this sound like you?
You’ve read about the role and now your imagination is flying
at full speed. Here are the qualities we’re looking for… do you recognize them in yourself?
You have a degree as Biomedical Scientist (BMA) or similar, paired with laboratory experience performing different types of analysis
Knowledge of analytical test methodologies
You’re structured and detail-oriented, focusing on the small details that make a huge difference
Demonstrate resourcefulness, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
High integrity
Curious with a pursuit to create improvements
Ability to listen to others needs
You contribute to a good collaborative atmosphere and can build trust and cooperation across the organization
You’re fluent in Swedish and English, both in speaking and writing
We believe that you prefer to work in a structured way but enjoy an environment of change and fast growth.
You feel connected to our Guiding Principles, especially these two:
Feel at home
Feeling happy to bring your whole self to work along with your bad ideas, and the openness to hear your colleagues’ highly questionable ideas too. Some of those duds, may in fact, be diamonds. That’s the reasoning around these parts.
Listen for clues
Enjoying listening to others’ viewpoints and contemplating, “does this have a seed of greatness?” Or maybe something less grand, but you get the picture. Trying to understand your colleagues!
Your Application
We welcome people from all backgrounds that think sustainability, health and transparency are mega important. So send in that CV, cross your fingers and whisper a little prayer to the powers that be. It will be fun, or at least a good time. Promise!
