Laboratory Manager with GMP experience to Biopharma company

Job description
On behalf of our client Takura, we are now looking to recruit a structured and driven Laboratory Manager with good leadership skills who will be responsible for managing Takura’s brand new GMP facility! The right candidate will have GMP experience and experience in sterile mammalian cell culturing. The candidate we are looking for will also have excellent organizational and leadership skills. This role will be a great fit for a curious candidate who wants to be part of the exciting journey that Takura has started! The role will be placed in the new facility in Solna and the starting date will be determined with the right candidate. 

Responsibilities
The Laboratory Manager will initially provide GMP expertise and help finalize the new facility to get it “up and running”. This will include establishing routines, SOP´s and other required documentation. The Laboratory Manager will also be responsible for purchasing necessary equipment and consumables, perform risk assessments, plan installation and qualification of equipment and plan method transfer and method validation. 

Once the facility is up and running the focus will be on running the GMP production and leading the laboratory engineers in their daily work. This will include planning production to meet set deadlines, help and advice the laboratory staff when necessary, plan purchases of material and consumables for the planned productions, keep updated on GMP requirements and handle regulatory and quality issues.
Takura has a joint venture in Abu Dhabi and the position as Laboratory Manager will also include activities in Abu Dhabi. Other travelling could also occur when needed for example travelling to a supplier for an audit. 

Qualifications
· MSc or similar in a relevant field (molecular biology, cell biology, biomedical engineering etc.)
· >3 years experience from working according to GMP
· >5 years practical experience in aseptic cell work, preferably according to GMP
· Practical experience in flow cytometry acquisition and analysis
· Practical experience in supervising laboratory personnel in a GMP environment 
· Experience in writing SOP´s and instructions
· Experience in qualification and validation
· Fluent in spoken and written English 
· Swedish and Arabic is meritorious 
· Experience in Quality Assurance is meritorious

The role includes working both independently and in collaboration with internal and external parties and excellent written and verbal communication skills is therefore necessary. As the lab is new and developing at a fast pace, it is important to be adaptable and flexible with an ability and a drive to see opportunities for continuous improvement. The role also requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to take initiative and make decisions.
