DESCRIPTION OF MINERVAX
MinervaX is a Danish Company with a laboratory unit placed in Lund, Sweden, that is engaged in clinical development (now in phase II) of a Group B Streptococcal vaccine targeting pregnant women for the prevention of life-threatening infections in newborns. So far, the vaccine has been dosed to >750 healthy adult women, including >450 pregnant women. The vaccine has proven safe, highly immunogenic and giving rise to functionally active antibodies (read more at www.minervax.com). In addition to several ongoing Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, MinervaX is engaged in the development of correlates of protection, which can be used as surrogate markers of efficacy in future Phase III trials.
To its unit in Lund, MinervaX is now looking for a Laboratory Scientist. MinervaX offers you an exciting and challenging temporary position in a rapidly growing international oriented company. You will work with highly skilled and experienced colleagues forming a great and successful team.


JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced laboratory scientist to temporarily join our Lund team for an 8 month period. You have an overall understanding of cell biology and immunology, experience working in a laboratory as well as in handling patient material.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in cell biology, particularly working with human cells as well as clinical samples. Prior experience in immunology or microbiology related laboratory work is required. Experience from research on interactions between immune cells and gram positive bacteria will be key to success in the role. A strong record of experience from good laboratory practice environments is crucial for this role.
In addition to the technical scientific skills, you will be tasked with writing internal reports, archiving and a lot of other various activities. The laboratory scientist will be part of a small research team consisting of other scientists and senior scientists.

At a personal level, you must be comfortable operating effectively in a small, dynamic, collaborative, and innovative environment. Being able to multi-task and maintain focus under pressure is a requirement. You must possess the energy, passion, and ambition to make a difference in an exciting biotech organization.

Job Responsibilities
Laboratory work, including analysis of data
Documenting experiments and reporting to the responsible Senior Scientist
Writing of protocols and SOPs
Writing of internal reports
Contribute to general scientific operation at MinervaX


Educational background and experience
Master of Science in Immunology or Microbiology
Significant experience from immunology and cell biology laboratory research
Experience with handling cell lines, bacteria and human samples
Specific experience in studying host-pathogen interaction would be advantageous, as well as additional experience from research within the area of infectious diseases.
The ability to think independently and implement solutions to problems is important for success in this role. Also important is that the candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile, changing environment
