Do you want to help us create color recipes and ensure a high quality of our colored products and also have an interest in both colors, measurement of colors and product chemistry? Then you can become our new Lab Engineer for Color Formulations!
What will you be working on?
At our Lab & Quality-department on Angered's site, we provide manufacturing support and quality assurance for the products manufactured here, you will also be a part of that work. The larger part in this role of Lab Engineer Colour Formulations aims to develop customized colour recipes for the Chromascan colour tinting system for our products. The job also includes providing internal support within the department and to our production with regard to product maintenenance and produtction improvement. You will participate in both the general Quality assurance, Healt&Safety and Lean improvements.
Your main work involves:
• Formulation of colour recipes for the Chromascan system.
• Management of orders for color formulations, with relevant communication to customer order desk and salesperson, and monthly reporting.
• To be a knowledge bank with regard to colour management including colour and colour measurement with our instruments.
• To support and support in color management for factory manufacturing.
• You need to learn all quality controls on all our products and how to identify if the products do not meet the specified requirements, your specialty becomes colors.
• You have a collaboration with colleagues in the international Chromascan organization and also have a functional manager, in addition to the line manager at the site.
• You will work with supporting, providing service and improvement to the QC group and work with training in terms of colour and colour strength, but also other parameters.
• You participate in the site's and the department's work to achieve goals within Health, Protection and Environment. Quality and Lean methods, cost improvements etc.
• You are flexible to eventually learn several other areas of work in order to be able to work together with colleagues, both on a daily basis and so that we can cover for each other during holidays and other absences.
Working hours office hours Monday to Friday 8:00 – 16:30. You will report to Quality Manager and be located on Akzo Nobel's site in Gunnilse/Angered.
Who are you?
To be successful in the role of Lab Engineer Colour Formulations, you need to be analytical, thorough and have a very good service ability to both colleagues and customers. You need to have an interest and aptitude for color theory and how different colors can be created in our existing product range as well as a perfect color vision. As a person, you always strive for improvement and you are used to acting as a problem solver. Since it is important that you have the ability to detect any errors, we also see that you are a person who has the ability to look at the big picture and act if something needs to be adjusted or changed.
In addition to the above characteristics, we also see that you have the following qualifications:
• Higher education expertise in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar fields.
• Experience from large-scale paint manufacturing or chemical-technical manufacturing, preferably with batch-based production.
• Interest in paint and color theory, how different colors can be created in our product range and perfect color vision.
• Fluent Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) is a requirement.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint and SAP (SAP Saturn) is a merit.
