Field of subject for the position: Deep Biosphere Microbiology
Placement: Kalmar
Extent and period: The position is 50 % for six months.
Job description
The position will involve technical field and laboratory work to sample, extract, and analyze nucleic acids from deep biosphere fracture waters.
Requirements
To be qualified for the position, the candidate should have an undergraduate degree in microbiology or equivalent.
Specific requirements refer to
• Knowledge of handling samples and preparation of high throughput sequencing of deep biosphere samples
• Experience of applying bioinformatics to questions within microbial ecology
• High proficiency in written and spoken English.
