A Market Adviser vacancy has arisen within Trade & Investment Development Section of the British Embassy.
Our Market Advisers aim to increase the competitiveness of British goods in the Swedish market by keeping abreast of developments and reporting opportunities to the UK.They also respond to enquiries from British and local companies and, where appropriate, help promote investment in UK.
The work involves:
- Providing support and assistance to the team's Senior Market Adviser.
- Market research and compiling sector related reports on behalf of British companies
- Undertaking special projects
- Visits to companies, trade fairs, trade associations and commercial organisations within Sweden and sometimes in UK.
- Advising local and British commercial visitors.
Each Market Adviser is part of sector team headed by a Senior Market Adviser.The team involved currently specialises in Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Matters.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently - taking responsibility under supervision.
- Excellent communication skills which will include good written and spoken English and Swedish.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines - often under pressure.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, an ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast moving working environment.
- Good networking and social skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Aptitude for providing a customer driven service.
Additional bonus
- Business/marketing experience in industry, preferably importing or exporting would be an advantage but not essential.
- A professional qualification and/or related work experience would also add support to any application.
- A background in Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Matters.
