You will report directly to the Advanced Science & Engineering Group Manager.
Role Summary/Purpose
The Lead CT Systems Scientist drives technology and a cross-functional team made up of scientists, engineers, clinical applications, researchers, customers, marketing and field teams to define and develop new product technologies to meet customer needs. The Lead CT Systems Scientist position distinguishes itself through driving a high emphasis on new product innovations and a strong focus on image/signal quality, system safety, and system calibration to deliver significant design improvements in product architecture.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional team made up of scientists, engineers, marketing, product definition, and chief engineers to define system requirements for new products and technology roadmaps
Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions on new product introductions
Using broad technical expertise and experience of the team to help resolve complex design issues with current products
Providing domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, investigation of technical risks, as well as providing innovative solutions to achieve optimal system performance
Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance and image/signal quality.
Developing requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to image/signal quality, system safety, performance and calibration
Driving system tradeoff discussions within new product developments by having a full understanding of system architecture and interfaces
Investigating customer questions and complaints to provide technical answers and solutions
Providing technical leadership for project execution
Implementing and teaching engineering principles and standards
Driving innovation for competitive technical differentiation
Mentoring junior engineers in area of expertise
