LEAD DEVELOPER

Exciting times! Relax Gaming has just opened up a studio on Lilla torg in Malmö and we are now putting together a talented team to expand the frontiers of online gaming. We?re looking for a Lead Developer to be the core around which that team is formed. You must be highly motivated, self-organised and have the ability and desire to lead and build a high performing team.

Job Summary:

A team is only as good as the leadership, and you will be that leader. You (along with the Head of Studio) will build the ideal development team to create new, innovative and memorable online gambling games. You will have a passion for games in general and understand what makes a great game great. You are an experienced and skilled JavaScript developer familiar with the core language and able to pick-up new frameworks swiftly. And importantly, you will be a great leader and manager and have the experience and ability to create, manage and improve teams.

Our studio will have several game projects running simultaneously so expect the freedom to dynamically work with a wide variety of projects and features as well as contributing to several new and old IPs.

Responsibilities:

- Create and build the JavaScript development team
- Perform as Team Lead/Line Manager for a team of JavaScript developers and testers
- Guide and mentor junior developers
- Ensure deadlines are met with high technical quality

Required skills:

- Six years experience in IT
- At least one year experience as a lead (team lead, line lead or technical lead)
- Excellent JavaScript knowledge
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
- Experience in JavaScript frameworks (react.js, ES6)
- Comfortable using git version control
- Passionate about games, with an understanding of game-play mechanics
- Practical experience with running Agile development practices
- You are a positive, self-motivated team player that gladly speaks your mind
- You thrive in a fast paced environment and embrace having many projects running at the same time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- You are excited about playing a big part in shaping the future of the Malmö studio, culturally as well as for your own personal development

Bonus points for...

- 10 years in IT
- Has lead a team of 5+ developers previously
- Demonstrable game building experience
- Interest in gambling
- Experience in HTML5 Game Engines (pixi.js, Phaser or similar)

Location:

The Malmö studio is perfectly located on Lilla torg, right in the middle of the beautiful old parts of the city. It?s a five minute walk from the central station and all types of shopping and restaurants can be found right outside our doorstep.
