Lead Developer iOS, Stockholm

Lead Developer iOS, Stockholm

Arbetsbeskrivning

Always dreamt about saving the world? Or maybe just a little. Like becoming an environmental hero, get better on recycling your garbage or create great code with side effects that decrease the carbon dioxide footprint. Well that is what we do as employees at Blocket. What we do here is actually affecting most people in Sweden. We are talking millions of users. We are talking about a circular economy. And we are talking about sustainability shopping. Thai is cool!
We are Blocket, Sweden’s largest and most popular marketplace with around 12.3M monthly active users generating over 100 million sessions. We are proud of our impact on second-hand trade in Sweden, enabling more sustainable ways of shopping. Want to get a feel of the Blocket vibe? What you'll be up to
As Domain Tech Lead (DTL) you will be a lead developer responsible for the technical stability, quality, technical roadmap and vision for the iOS domain.
We were early adopters of Swift and have since moved the majority of our code base over to a Swift-only architecture. While you will be digging into the odd Objective-C here and there, our goal is to be 100% Swift in a short time and hopefully we will be walking there hand in hand with you!
The Blocket App Team
We are Blocket's native experts and in charge of our ever growing app. We are a small and ambitious team home to both Android and iOS developers. Our app has amassed around 275 000 users for every developer on the team, which means your work will definitely not go unnoticed. We encourage mob and pair programming and tight collaboration, and since we still haven't agreed on which platform to label "the dark side" yet, your input here could be the decider!
Skills & Requirements
Who you are
It's fair to say that you love app development, creating sustainable products and learning new things as you go along. You have a soft spot for really digging into the iOS domain in depth and enjoy creating solutions focusing on performance, scalability and sustainability. Your view on coaching and sharing your knowledge with the team, is something obvious and fun!
Background/skills
At least 6 years experience as a developer
Experience working with large codebases in Swift / Objective-C
You know your way around CI environment (i.e. Travis / Firebase)

Bonus
Experience within provisioning profile and App Store connect
Experience from a technical lead and/or architect role

Hi I am your new Manager!
HELLO! I'm Fredrik and I've worked at Blocket for almost 5 years and I've been the manager for Blockets Core Engineering Managers for about 2 years now. My two main focus areas are developing our tech leadership skills and working tightly together with our Head of Product to make sure we're always moving in the same direction.
I believe that transparancy, cross-collaborations and autonomy are the key factors for building happiness and engagement and do my best to facilitate it. The one thing I love most about working in tech is the product enabling part of technology - lets build the best online marketplace possible and make the world a better place at the same time!
Outside of your team you'll also be working closely with your colleagues in the tech leadership team. We're a great bunch of transparent, driven, open minded and fun people - come join us!
Oh, when I'm not working you'll most likely find me playing bassguitar (with more enthusiasm than skill), hiking/fishing or playing with my son. Or taking care of plants in the garden, when the season is right.
Interested in joining the Blocket world?
We look forward to hearing from you! Send your CV or apply with your LinkedIn-profile and let us know what makes you tick. We would love to get to know you a bit better!
PS: Due to the corona-issue, we are currently not offering re-locations from outside of the EU. We sure hope that we will be able to to so further ahead
