The Firmware team is responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software in new technology and development projects and to provide software expertise when changes to existing HemoCue products are required. Place of work is onsite in Ängelholm or Lund, or hybrid. A hybrid work location means that you live within a commutable distance from Ängelholm and split your working time between your remote location and onsite.
As a Lead Development Engineer in the Firmware team you will primarily work in a project team to develop features and functionality in new products, from low-level drivers and board bring up to high-level applications. You have a strong technical background, and you enjoy sharing your experience and knowledge with your colleagues. You will mainly work with your colleagues in the Firmware team, but also collaborate with other disciplines such as electronics, mechanics, graphics design, test, quality assurance, and manufacturing. You should enjoy being part of the product development process at all stages, from feasibility and planning, to design and development, to verification and validation, to manufacturing and maintenance.

What you will be doing
Support firmware development on embedded microprocessors and System-on-Modules
Collaborate with colleagues to define and develop new features and guide future development
Perform code reviews, participate in technical reviews and risk analyses
Optimize and debug firmware to improve reliability and performance
Coach other engineers within field of expertise
What we need to see
University degree within Computer Science or closely related degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of industry experience in software development for embedded systems
Proficiency in C/C++ and software design patterns
Familiarity with computer system architecture and microcontroller fundamentals
Strong background in developing and debugging on embedded Linux systems and/or ARM microcontrollers
What would impress us
Knowledge of network protocols and security for embedded systems
Familiarity with test driven development and automated integration testing
Experience of working with serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.)
Knowledge of medical device software development in accordance with IEC 62304
Experience in creating, configuring, and building embedded Linux images using the Yocto platform
