Lead Digital Modeler

Our Digital Modeling team focuses on building digital models with directions from designers and studio engineers. Our team enjoys working together and put emphasis on flexibility and cooperation. As exterior Lead Digital Modeler you will be responsible for delivering digital shape models for future Lynk & Co cars. 
The successful candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently. Based in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, you will be working closely with Designer and studio engineer at Geely Design as well as with colleagues at Geely in China.  

Main focus in your role:
As a Lead Digital Modeler you will have a leading role in a project modelling team. You will be main responsible for delivering Digital shape models with quality according to agreed standards. The job covers resource planning for the team as well as keeping the total overview of the work within the team. The project team is kept the same from early phase sketch modeling to class-A. Ability to work in a sometimes stressful and demanding environment is important. You will need to have ability to interact and fit into a small, highly motivated, multi-functional team that is working in a rapid, simultaneous engineering environment. The role offers the rare opportunity to take ownership in the development of new vehicles.

Typical job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
* Responsible for delivering digital shape models based on scan data, design/physical models, sketches or verbal instructions.
* Understand and implement technical input in the design model.
* Visualize your work for designers, managers prior to release/milling to identify problems with design or model quality.
* Have a pronounced role in developing methods and processes for the Digital modelling group at Geely design.
* Lead and support the Digital modelling team within the project
* Resource planning along with delegate and prioritize tasks in the group and have the overall track
* Managing weekly team meetings with your team.
* Have overall responsibility for the operational work of the project modelling team

Qualifications and key attributes
* Expert skills in using Alias / Icem Surf or related software.
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in digital modelling.
* Technical university or equivalent, solid working experience from automotive industry is required.
* A very good understanding and knowledge of design, shape and technical demands.
* Ability to work in cross functional teams and lead a modelling team.
* Strong interest in Automotive technology, and experience from automotive industry.
* Structured, methodical and analytical with good planning skills.
* Have a coaching approach.
* Have previous experience of leading a group against given targets.
* Manage conflicts.
* Good communication.
* Fluent in English. Spoken and written.


Beneficial:
* Knowledge from VRED is a plus.
* CATIA experience is a plus.
* Teamcenter experience.
