Lead Engineer Alarm Systems
At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. The section Security and Body Electronics within the Electronics department has responsibilities that stretches from early phases until launch of new cars. We develop customer functionality, handle project management, analysis, verification, hardware and software. The technical responsibility covers many of the security systems in the vehicle, such as Access, Locking & Alarm, but also a number of electronic control units, for instance the centrally positioned Body Control Module. The section consist of four groups, two engineering design groups, one SW-development group, and one Verification group, and has approximately 60 employees.
As Lead Engineer for Alarm Systems you will be covering all phases from concept to aftermarket. You will have a cross functional responsibility together with purchasing and manufacturing. The role also involves close cooperation with our suppliers. As Lead Engineer for Alarm systems you will have the possibility to strengthen your project management skills while building knowledge of the Volvo product development system. This is the perfect position for someone new to the automotive industry.
Main responsibilities
* Work in close cooperation with suppliers to develop system/component solutions (time, technique, cost)
* Quality assure the assignment through a cross functional team and deliver according to agreed time plan
* Documenting the assignment by updating and releasing documentation for systems and components
* Report the assignment status and decisions to Project and Line management
* Follow up and drive on-going quality items within Alarm area
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. degree in engineering or similar
* Interest in managing projects
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Driver's license (B)
* Documented leadership experience is meritorious

* Well organised, structured and proactive
* Focused on time delivery
