About the role
The Non-driven axle, Disc brakes and Hubs group are responsible for developing axles, knuckles, kingpins, steering arms, hubs, disc brakes and wheels. As our new Lead Engineer, you will get the opportunity to contribute to our team’s work and make your mark on our global, strategic and long-term projects. With the primary responsibility to develop Axle components, you will handle the technical area's specification, documentation, and verification – while continuing to grow professionally alongside highly skilled colleagues. Additional responsibilities
With your experience in automotive product development, you will specify system and functional requirements to secure needed verification and validation of the Axle components. In close collaboration with your colleagues and suppliers, you will provide support to after-market and production plants and participate in technical discussions. Furthermore, you will network across the organization, support our business development, and influence the work in the other sites.

You have good communication and presenting skills and enjoy working both independently and in a team. Moreover, you have a sense of responsibility and a genuine interest in the automotive industry.


You have experience within forging processes, metallurgy, topology optimization, and structure calculations. You will work together with the team with shaping our beams with complex surfaces in PRO-E including the creation of drawings for those. To succeed in this role good collaboration is needed as we are working together with our global organization and suppliers from around the world.


Required qualifications:
A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or similar
Well-spoken in English, both verbal and written
Minimum 5 years within axles and wheel-end engineering
Product development management experience. Preferably in relevant engineering area
Experience from leading cross-functionally work within automotive product development process
Experience of agile methods, such as SAFE, SCRUM and KANBAN
Experience from working in a global environment
Meritorious if you also have knowledge in Volvo Tools like KOLA and C-driving license
